HeraldIn the wake of the Marelian conflict and the recent purging of seditious networks, the Ministry of the Populi has formally introduced a new Kingdom Citizenship Pledge, a ceremonial affirmation intended to strengthen civic unity and moral character across Eyehasseen.

The pledge—crafted with input from the Royal Council, the Ministry of Education, and the Truthkeepers’ Guild—is to be recited at civic ceremonies, school inaugurations, and public oaths of office. Officials say its purpose is not coercive but restorative, promoting ethics, mutual respect, and loyalty to the Crown following a turbulent season in the Kingdom’s history.

Minister Corwell of the Populi addressed the assembly from the marble steps of the Palace Courtyard:
“We are not merely rebuilding structures after the war. We are rebuilding trust, courtesy, and the very fabric of our shared life. The pledge reflects the virtues that have carried Eyehasseen through adversity: honor, restraint, fidelity, and truth.”

THE NEW KINGDOM CITIZENSHIP PLEDGE

“Before the Crown and before my neighbors, I pledge myself to the Kingdom of Eyehasseen.
I give my fealty to His Majesty the King, guardian of our peace and steward of our common good.
I vow to speak truth, seek virtue, and hold my scruples firm against deceit.
I will cherish good manners, courtesy, and right conduct, treating all with respect and due measure.
I will defend the Kingdom’s unity, uphold its laws, and resist all falsehoods that seek to divide us.
I pledge my mind to honesty, my hands to service, and my heart to the welfare of Eyehasseen.
In loyalty, in civility, and in truth, I stand.”

Public Reaction

Initial public response has been broadly supportive. Teachers praise the pledge’s emphasis on manners and civic responsibility. Veterans commend the line promising resistance to divisive falsehoods. A few critics question whether such pledges have practical impact, though even they acknowledge the need for renewed civic clarity after years of war and subversion.

The Palace confirmed that His Majesty personally reviewed and approved the final wording. The pledge will be incorporated into Founders’ Day ceremonies next month, where thousands of schoolchildren will speak it in unison for the first time.

Whether the pledge becomes tradition or merely a moment of national reassurance remains to be seen. But for now, Eyehasseen stands a little straighter, speaking clearly what it believes.
