Ministry Report – Weights & Provisions
INVERNESS — A sweeping audit by the Ministry of Weights & Provisions has revealed widespread inconsistencies in flour sacks delivered from mills along the River Bramble. Officials discovered that while labeled as 50-pound sacks, the average weight came to only 47.3 pounds.
“Consumers deserve a full sack, not a baker’s trick,” declared Minister Agnes Porridgeham, who vowed immediate corrective measures. Mills found in violation will be required to provide compensatory bread loaves to affected villages.
The Ministry also unveiled a new official “Kingdom Bushel” standard, calibrated against a ceremonial grain measure kept under lock at Inverness Hall. Critics called the move “pedantic,” but the Minister insisted it would “restore trust in every spoonful.”
