To the Editor:
I wish to protest the noise made by the North Bell Ringing Society at dawn on Secondday. While I respect their enthusiasm, I do not believe “wakefulness” should be legislated via bell.

Dear Sirs:
I must say the recent festival lacked a proper sense of foreboding. In years past, the bunting seemed more dramatic. This year it was simply festive. Can we not reintroduce a slight air of existential rumbling?

Esteemed Editor:
I commend the Times-Observer for its excellent coverage of civic life. However, I did not appreciate being labeled “that man with the unusually reactive cat.” I shall remind you the cat has opinions.
