1. Field Sower (Day Labor)

Assist farmers in spreading the season’s first seeds. Singing encouraged, dancing discouraged.

2. Scarecrow Refurbisher

Replace hats, patch coats, and refresh faces on last year’s scarecrows. Must not grant them names or dignity.

3. Apprentice Weather Gauge Builder

Help assemble new barometers and wind vanes for the coming storm season. Must tolerate both science and poetry.

4. Town Fountain Painter

Scrub and repaint civic fountains to restore the illusion of freshness. Pay per sparkle.

5. Cart Axle Greaser (Rural Contract)

Join a traveling team greasing wagons along the countryside. Must thrive on dust and companionship.

6. Apprentice Beekeeper

Tend early hives and assist in the relocation of mildly annoyed bees.
Apply: Ministry of Agriculture & Garden Ethics, Hive Office, Plot 7.


7. Seed Counter (Temporary Appointment)

Count, bag, and label seed varieties for distribution to local farms. Counting past ten a valued skill.

8. Canal Bank Dredger

Remove sediment and mysterious objects from the irrigation canals. Swimming prohibited.

9. Village Bard (Planting Season)

Provide rhythmic accompaniment for sowing festivals. Preference for flute or whistle.

10. Pigeon Message Courier

Deliver official communications by carrying the pigeons that carry the messages.

11. Apprentice Gardener (Public Squares)

Assist in planting civic flower beds. Fear of worms frowned upon.

12. Clock Bell Tester (Rain Inspection)

Ascend civic towers and strike bells to ensure proper resonance in damp conditions. Must not ring for joy.

13. Rat Exhorter (Seasonal Renewal)

Encourage rats who wintered indoors to return to the fields where they belong. Persuasion techniques provided.
